I know why you’re here. Because you, too, absolutely love a good appetizer dip recipe. And you know you’re in the right place because that’s what we do best.

Cottage cheese has been having its moment, touted by its high-protein content. You might say it’s having a come back. Except, let’s be honest…it never really went anywhere for us, did it? But now, instead of enjoying it scooped into a bowl with deliciously sweet and savory toppings, we’re mixing it up. Literally.
Cottage cheese deserves to really live into its moment. With its mild flavor and creaminess, it was simply destiny that it should be turned into a blended dip, just like our trusty 5-star favorite, whipped ricotta.
I love serving it with crispy homemade crostini, but it’s also the best veggie dip. So what do you say? Let’s whip it up lickety-split so we can enjoy it!
The Game Changer: Fresh Herbs
Fresh herbs are always a game changer, and that’s no exception in this herby dip recipe. The combination of parsley, basil, and chives screams summer — summer and freshness! Oh me, oh my, it’s a trifecta of herb perfection. With a hint of fresh lime juice for brightness, it’s a WOW combination.
I also recommend using whole milk cottage cheese for the richest, creamiest dip around.

How to Make Cottage Cheese Dip
It is so easy and quick to make whipped cottage cheese. The result is unmatched creaminess. You’d never know it was once small cheese curds because it quickly turns into smooth dip perfection.
Like our whipped feta, this recipe calls for a food processor. Unlike whipped ricotta, which is already pretty smooth, so using a hand mixer works, the blending from a food processor or blender really helps smooth the cottage cheese.
- Place the ingredients in a food processor and blend until smooth. Taste test for your desired salt and pepper levels, too.
- That’s it!

My Favorite Ways to Serve This Dip
So, it’s superb as is. Just dip a carrot or celery in it, a spoon, or whatever vehicle you can get your hands on, like homemade flatbread or naan. I also highly recommend serving it with crostini, either as a dip or even topping each crostini with the dip and some chopped tomatoes.
Speaking of tomatoes, depending on how I’ll be using the dip, I also like to add chopped tomatoes to the top as a nice contrast in flavor and texture. They add an extra bright acidity but are optional.
Serve this easy dip as part of a gorgeous vegetable tray, a charcuterie board, or various crackers, tortilla chips, and more. Dig in and enjoy!
